Description
This ferrite disc magnet is produced from isotropic ferrite material, meaning the magnetic grains are randomly oriented during manufacture. Unlike anisotropic grades (such as C8/Y30H-1), isotropic ferrite can be magnetised in any direction, but delivers a lower overall magnetic strength.
When magnetised axially through the thickness, the result is a disc with a clearly defined north and south pole on each circular face, but with a noticeably gentler pull force compared to anisotropic equivalents. The field tends to be concentrated toward the outer edges of the pole faces, with a softer central region — a characteristic of isotropic ferrite geometry.
This type of magnet is commonly used in educational kits, hobby projects, and demonstrations where cost-effective ferrite performance and flexibility of magnetisation are more important than maximum holding power.
Dimensions:
12.7 mm (Ø) × 11.6 mm (H) with North Pole Dent
Grade:
Isotropic
