Description
A proper industrial grade Alnico horseshoe magnet, finished in marshmallow pink and sold for what nail techs actually use it for: pulling the shimmer in velvet and cat eye polish into a deep, high contrast stripe.
The horseshoe shape is what sets it apart from a flat wand. Your finger rests inside the opening, so the field wraps around the nail from both poles at once rather than pulling from one side. At roughly 10kg of pull it is far stronger than the small tools sold for the job, which is where the bold, mirror-like effect comes from.
How to use it
- Shake your bottle of magnetic nail polish thoroughly. This only needs doing once at the start.
- Rest your finger inside the opening of the horseshoe and brush on a generous coat of polish while it sits there.
- Hold the finger in place for at least 30 seconds while the effect draws out.
- Work one finger at a time, letting each layer dry to the touch before the next, until you have the depth you want.
- Finish with your usual top coat, holding it over the magnet the same way.

Good to know
- Works with any velvet, cat eye or magnetic polish. Polish is not included.
- Supplied with a steel keeper bar. Alnico magnets weaken if stored with their poles open, so sit the keeper across both faces when the magnet is not in use.
- Alnico holds its strength at high temperature and will not lose it with normal use, but it is a cast alloy and will chip if dropped on a hard floor.
- Keep it away from phones, cards, watches and anything else that does not like a strong magnet.
- The 5mm hole lets you hang it or mount it at the bench if you would rather not hold it.
